Abstract

Kiris coastline, located in the west of Antalya, is one of the important tourism regions. Rocks of different ages and characteristics of the region are observed in the sediments of the coastline. The aim of the study is to determine the anomaly areas of Kiris beach sediments by calculating different indices such as contamination factor (Cf), degree of contamination (Cd), modified contamination degree (mCd), pollution load index (PLI) and enrichment factor (EF). The beach sediments taken systematically along the beach were chemically analyzed by X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy (XRF). In this context, accumulation index degrees were determined in the study area and anomaly areas caused by natural and anthropogenic effects were determined.

Keywords: Beach sediments, heavy metals, contamination factor (Cf), degree of contamination (Cd), modified contamination degree (mCd), pollution load index (PLI), enrichment factor (EF)
